Ohio Field Research
Eastern Ohio Bigfoot Investigation Center
By Don Keating

"Ohio is not a state that comes to mind when you ask the general public where Bigfoot lives. In fact, for the most part, the pacific northwest down through California. My original idea was that Ohio could not have Bigfoot in it, no way, shape or form! But, I was wrong!

The state of Ohio consist of just over 41,004 square miles of land. If you took a line from East Liverpool to Canton and then southward to Newark, Chillicothe and to the Ohio River at Portsmouth, well, then you'd have the prime areas for Bigfoot. In this area is the Wayne National Forest which is in much of southeast and southern Ohio.

Plenty of cover exist for these creatures to exist. Wild animals need three things to exist. Food, water and shelter. Ohio is littered with mining ares of the olden days from the 40's through the 70's. During this time period the mining companies were not required to fill in what they had dug up. This left the areas with what I like to call "mini Grand Canyon" looking terrain. Steep, jagged high walls are common sight in Coshocton, Muskingum and Guernsey counties of eastern Ohio. These are my main areas of research.

In Ohio, through May of 1993 (these numbers need revised badly!) there were over 200 documented sightings of Bigfoot in Ohio. When I began researching in 1984, there were only a few dozen recorded sightings for the entire state.

If you'd like to learn much more about Ohio's Bigfoot situation. You can go to my Eastern Ohio Bigfoot Investigation Center home page and check out the reports and you may e-mail me at eobic@yahoo.com if you wish. Finally, I thank Mike for allowing me the oppertunity to share this information with you. More to be added to this article soon!"
