Barmanus I happened to be in Wakhan corridor for a short while in extreme northwest Pakistan. There I came across a Kirghiz who told me something about Yeti. According to him if you cross over into Wakhan corridor its not unusual to hear people there complaining of Barmanus (I believe it's an old corrupt form of some ancient Aryan dialect, meaning "like a man", Manu means man) mischiefs in local villages. It is described as brownish and erect man like creature which is aggressive and powerful. The terrain is inhospitable and quite desolate. It's a week ride on jeeps and horseback for the most part. A wild land in all respects. » Submitted by: Muhammad Faisal |
