The 3rd annual Oklahoma Monkeychasers BBQ The 3rd annual Oklahoma Monkeychasers BBQ, co-hosted by Indian Territory Sasquatch Bigfoot Investigative Group, was held the weekend of September 21, 2002. Oklahoma Monkeychasers was founded in March, 1999, to allow people with sightings, or interested in Bigfoot to have a place to talk about them on Yahoo! In 2000, it became Monkeychasers.com Bigfoot Information Group with its own website and message board. Now, with the addition of PalTalk, people can talk about Bigfoot without fear of being harassed for what they believe. I.T.S.B.I.G. has been investigating these creatures for years in Oklahoma ( 2/3 of the counties ), Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. The members of both groups have a wide array of sightings and investigative outings and know these creatures exist. The BBQ gave them a chance to come together and exchange information and have a lot of fun.Everyone from rank amateurs to seasoned researchers were welcomed to a day filled with fun, food, and festivity. To see and hear the ernest dedication of these groups to a creature ( for lack of a better word )previously thought to be only someone`s nightmare, or a drunken hallucination, was refreshing and inspiring. Children, dogs, and complete strangers were welcomed and included in the gathering. The delicious food included meats, salads, vegetables grilled to perfection, and desserts to die for. For sure, if anyone went hungry, it was their own fault! Awards, well maybe reward and gag gifts, had been chosen with care and a great deal of work and love, and were enjoyed by all. These included certificates, crowns, turbans, monkey fur bags, of course, with a monkey inside, and owls representing the sound mimicked by Bigfoot. Some planned research for the nights they were there. Others had to leave, but were promised reports on any sightings. As it turned out, some got almost too close.Needless to say, the Arbuckle mountains resounded with the sounds of happy people and ----------! |
