The 4th Annual Texas Bigfoot Conference There is a history of Bigfoot sightings around Jefferson Texas. The movie "Creature From Black Lake" was filmed near and around Caddo Lake, 15 miles from Jefferson, TX. We have received several reports of Bigfoot sightings in this general area. SPEAKERS John Kirk III - Legitimate Evidence of the Existence of Sasquatch using Criminal Investigation Methods The author of the award-winning book In the Domain of the Lake Monsters, John Kirk is one of the world's leading cryptozoological investigators. As president of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club (BCSCC), John is part of a team of investigators that have searched for cryptids such as Ogopogo, Sasquatch, Cadborosaurus, black alligators and giant salamanders in the province of British Columbia. The club is scientifically based with a large portion consisting of open-minded academics who feel the existence of new species of animals lying undiscovered is not such a farfetched idea. John is also Editor and Publisher of the BCSCC Quarterly well-known for its balanced approached to the enigma of mystery animalsand also author of the club website. John has ventured far afield in his quest for evidence for the mystery animals of the world in many areas of the world including Scotland, the Republic of Cameroon and the Republic of the Congo. In 2001 and one John was part of the Cryptosafari team which investigated reports of an animal called Mokele Mbembe which bears an uncanny resemblance to a sauropod dinosaur. While on this expedition the Cryptosafari team unearthed the first reports of a manlike creature standing over six feet tall, with three toes and fingers which in habits the Cameroon-Congo border region known to locals as the Dodu. Another mystery animal, the Ngoubou, was also described and this animal has features consistent with those a styracosaurus, part of the family of ceratopsians said to have been extinguished from the planet millions of years ago. In addition to his cryptozoological research, John is a keen student of police methodologies and investigation techniques which he feels are very useful in the field of cryptozoological research. Analyzing and then organizing clues and evidntiary materials is an important part of the cryptozoological method and John is keen to share this with other researchers in this field. It is therefore no surprise that John is employed by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) as a civilian capacity in support services. In addition to the RCMP, John has also worked with the Vancouver Police Department where he has acquired further insights into investigative technologies. John has also extensively studied the musculature of the creature in the Patterson film and in 1999 was the first to report specifically on the substantial musculature differences between the creature and a human being which were detailed in the BCSCC Quarterly. It is John's hope that the day will come when cryptozoological researchers will be at the forefront of using technologies and equipment that are of the cutting edge variety in their search for cryptids. Jimmy Chilcutt - Jimmy is the latent fingerprint examiner for the Conroe Police Department He is highly regarded by agents of the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and state and local law enforcement agencies because of his innovative techniques and ability to find fingerprints where others fail. Chilcutt's quest to squeeze more information out of fingerprints led him to develop a rare expertise in nonhuman primate prints. He tried to use his special knowledge to debunk alleged evidence of Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch. But his examination of alleged Bigfoot footprint castings didn't lead to the conclusion he had expected. He now believes that -- while some of them are fakes -- some are the genuine prints of a reclusive animal that has yet to be documented and studied. Rick Noll - Pacific Northwest Field Research Techniques Rick has been researching the sasquatch phenomenon since 1969. He is an expert in aircraft metrology, working for major aerospace manufacturers. Over the last 30 years, Rick has worked with all of the major sasquatch researchers and connected with many highly noted anthropologists such as Dr. George Schaller and Dr. Jane Goodall. Rick is known for not only his sasquatch related knowledge, but also for his expertise in digital technology and related electronics. Rick spends most of his sasquatch research time in the field monitoring several camera traps and track sites in hopes of getting a fresh lead on the creature. Rick was one of the principals who discovered and made the Skookum cast, and is also the caretaker of the cast. Nick Redfern - UK author and investigator of the strange and unusual Nick will be speaking about Bigfoot creatures in the UK. Scott Herriott - Squatching Scott was a stand-up comic for 11 years. He worked at Tech TV for over 3 1/2 years as host of Internet Tonight and a contributor to The Screen Savers. Scott believes that he was within 40 feet of at least 1 Sasquatch in October of '92. He captured this on video. Scott was a speaker at the 2002 Texas Bigfoot Conference. He was working on a documentary called "Squatching". He will be showing that documentary at this year's Conference. Alton Higgins - Alton is a biology professor from Mid America Christian University in Oklahoma City He is also an investigator for the BFRO. Circumstances surrounding apparent sasquatch handprint finds from Oklahoma will be discussed. The Oklahoma handprints seem to resemble each other; however, print measurements and comparisons with human hand characteristics indicate a distinct morphology. Similarities with hand impressions cast decades earlier in the northwest part of the U.S. support the view that the same species left the handprints found in Oklahoma. Sue Lindley - Sue's Sasquatch hand recreation model Sue will talk about her sightings in Washington, California, and Oregon. She will discuss Bigfoot behavior...juvenile, adolescent and adult...and logical reasons they do what they do. Sasquatch intelligence and sense of humor, and her food and beer experiments. She will discuss how to use knowledge of their behavior to entice them into your camp or to your truck in order to see/ photograph them (or at least *try* to photograph one). M. K. Davis - M. K. will be discussing his analysis of the Patterson/Gimlin film. Chester Moore, Jr. - Chester Moore is a full-time outdoors journalist specializing in wildlife conservation, fishing, hunting and Cryptozoology. His interest in mysterious animals goes back to his childhood when television shows about the yeti and Loch Ness Monster were common. The ivorybilled woodpecker, Bigfoot creatures and black panthers are of particular interest because they represents the wildness of the Southern forests he has known and loved his entire life. Moore spends many hours in the field studying Cryptozoology and will frequently post his finding on this site. Chester Moore's writing can be seen in The Anomalist, Texas Parks & Wildlife, Texas Fish & Game, Tide, Port Arthur News, Orange Leader and many other publications. He also has a weekly outdoors radio show on AM 560 KLVI in Beaumont, Texas. It airs 6-7 p.m. Fridays and frequently addresses Cryptozoology. The show can be heard via Real Audio at www.klvi.com. Chester is the recipient of 20 writing and photography awards from the Texas Outdoor Writer's Association and was named "Conservation Communicator of the Year" by the Sportsman's Conservation of Texas in 1996. He is a present and past board member of Texas Outdoor Writer's Association, Orange County Conservation and Natural Resources Committee, Houston/Gulf Coast Chapter of Safari Club International. He is also the founder of two separate shark tagging programs, one with Texas Sea Grant and the other with the Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, Florida. Chester will be signing copies of his 2 newest books at the Conference; "In the Dark: Chasing Phantoms, Dust and Shadows" and the not yet released "Bigfoot Lives: Deal With It".
